Features: Attaches to any garden hose or spigot Operates on city water pressure 40-100psi; for best results, use in-line water filters (not included) It does not require a misting pump for operation Specially-blended tubing colors match the most common residential and commercial exteriors allowing the misting system to blend in. This particular kit connects directly to a garden hose or the spigot. Your contractor may be trying to do a different type of installation.
The water goes through the garden hose adapter which is included.

I'm not certain if I understand the last question. Is the feed line in the center of the misting line? No, it's one continuous line.
You can connect two separate systems if you purchase the proper coupling/tee unions and make cuts in the proper area.
